Whispering to Oneself
The title of this blog comes from a quote out of Bram Stoker's "Dracula"*.
"I am anxious, and it soothes me to express myself here; it is like whispering to one's self and listening at the same time." It's an excerpt from Mina Murray's journal.
Although the audience may include more than just myself (poor dears), I find the title an appropriate sentiment because most of the entries will be snippets from my limping brain. No vacation journals, no family updates, no recipes, no advice except that which is aimed at me. So then, why am I here? Ahh, so it starts ....
*I find it interesting that "Dracula", "Frankenstein", "The Island of Dr. Moreau", "The Body Snatcher", and scads of Edgar Allan Poe's horror stories are written in the first person. My fascination with "Dracula" lies in the fact it is written as a compilation of journal entries and letters. I am not a contemporary horror fiction fan, but do enjoy the classics.
